Is Naseeruddin's role in The Dirty Picture based on Rajinikanth?

Ekta Kapoor’s Dirty Picture seems to have invited the wrath of Rajnikanth’s fans. The fans down south, have drawn parallels between Naseeruddin Shah’s role in the late southern star Silk Smitha’s biopic and Rajini’s life. The fans have raised objections and are fuming due to the similarity. Naseer is playing the role of a south superstar, who gets fascinated by the actress, being essayed by Vidya Balan.

Trailer of the film, which was released a few days back shows Naseer doing some raunchy moves with Vidya. Way back in 80s, Rajinikanth had also done few dance numbers with Silk Smitha, who was famous for her bold antics.

Now, some of the fans have found similarity between Naseer’s character in the film and that of Rajini’s past portayals. The fans have reportedly asked the producer, Ekta Kapoor to take out the objectionable scenes from the film.

However, the makers of the film have refused to acknowledge any resemblance of Naseer’s character to that of Rajini. In addition, they have stated that Naseer plays an ageing superstar in the film, unlike Rajini, who was a young star then.

But it seems like Rajini’s fans are not in a mood to get convinced, instead they have threatened the makers to be prepared to face grave consequences, if the superstar is portrayed in a bad light in the film.
