Family first for Brad Pitt

Actor Brad Pitt says his family is the most important thing in life and will always be his priority.
The actor, who raises six children Maddox, 10, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh 5 and three-year-old twins -- Knox and Vivienne -- with partner Angelina Jolie, admits he makes sure that he spends plenty of time with them, reports contactmusic.com.
"We're a normal family, a mother and a father, and the kids get unruly! The kids are fantastic and say the funniest things I've ever heard," he told Total Film magazine.
"But the most important thing for us is to make sure we carve out time for them, that we get group time and one-on-one time because it's our responsibility to show them around and help shape them. So I guess the only thing I can say is that it's fatherhood first, family first, and then I slip in the work," he added.

Charles Sobhraj's wife to show the world who's the Bigg Boss

She might have been vilified by outraged members of the public for falling in love with and marrying an alleged murderer but come October and Nihita Biswas Sobhraj, the Nepali wife of Charles Sobhraj, will show the world who's the Bigg Boss.

The 23-year-old, who became an instant celebrity three years ago when Sobhraj -- doing time in a Kathmandu prison -- announced they had fallen in love, flew to New Delhi Thursday morning to take part in the upcoming fifth series of Bigg Boss.

Bigg Boss 5 is the upcoming edition of Colors TV's controversial reality show to be co-hosted by Bollywood mega stars Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan.

Though Colors planned to reveal the names of the show's contestants in a special programme Oct 2, the cat was out of the bag in Kathmandu after immigration authorities recognised Nihita.

The bright-eyed journalist student became a well-known name in Nepal and beyond after claiming to have married Sobhraj, 46 years her senior, inside Kathmandu's Central Jail. The fame turned to notoriety last year when she was convicted for contempt of court and spent a night in police custody after challenging the Supreme Court's decision to sentence Sobhraj to life for murder.

Nihita's family sources said that despite her earlier quick temper, that last year made her hurl abuses at the two judges hearing Sobhraj's case inside court premises, she stands a good chance of lasting the 98 days' trial on television as she has now learnt to control herself.

Her appearance on Bigg Boss is also bound to revive flagging interest in Sobhraj, who has been in prison in Nepal for eight years and is likely to stay there for at least a decade more after three courts found him guilty of the murder of an American tourist, Connie Jo Bronzich, in 1975.

While Nihita was initially reluctant to leave, feeling she was abandoning Sobhraj, he is said to have urged her to go, saying he would keep himself busy with a new review petition that he filed Tuesday.

Tuesday's mandamus is directed against Nepal's President, Ram Baran Yadav, parliament chairman Subash Nembang and the 601 members of parliament, asking them to obey the directives of the Human Rights Committee in Geneva.

The Committee has said that there was a miscarriage of justice in Sobhraj's case in Nepal with the prosecution putting the burden of proof on the defendant and applying laws that did not exist at the time of the crime.

It also noted that Sobhraj had not been provided either an interpreter or case documents translated into languages known to him, which violated his basic rights.

Soon after the committee's views, Sobhraj's firebrand French lawyer Isabelle Coutant Peyre filed a case against Nepal's government, asking for compensation to the tune of 6 million euro for illegal arrest and detention.

The mandamus petition was initially rejected by the court on the ground that it was in English and not Nepali.

On Tuesday, the 66-year-old finally managed to get it translated into Nepali and submit it through the jailer.

While he is trying to drum up support for his release through international organisations like Amnesty International and the International Committee of Jurists, Sobhraj is also seeking to establish closer contact with Bollywood in the hope of a series of biopics on his life and career in crime spanning several countries in Asia and Europe.

Sobhraj is said to be keen to open negotiations with either Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan or Sanjay Dutt and Dutt's presence on Big Boss and subsequent interactions with Nihita could take him a step closer to his desire.

As for Nihita, the chance to feature in an Indian television reality show is a god-send for her.

After an impulsive visit to the prison in 2008 to see if Sobhraj needed an interpreter and then falling in love with him despite his chequered record, she has suffered vilification in Nepal while her mother Shakuntala Thapa, who was also Sobhraj's lawyer, saw her legal career sag and the education consultancy they ran close down.

Bigg Boss 5: Will Arvind Kejriwal participate in it?

Amidst the numerous names of celebs that are being speculated to have been approached to be a part of the show, the latest one to join the list is that of Arvind Kejriwal. He is a social activist, who recently rose to fame with his immense amount of support and participation in Anna Hazare's anti-corruption movement. The buzz has it that Arvind has been approached to be a part of the show along with actress, Kim Sharma.

Apart from them, the other celebs whose names are being speculated are- Barbara Mori, Poonam Pandey, Shakira, Humaima Malik, Adhyayan Suman, Lady Gaga and Mike Tyson, amongst many others.

From RK to SRK, Bollywood forever in China

Haikou (China): There are hardly any Indians in this booming capital of the southern Chinese island province, known for its sandy beaches, exotic sea food and spanking new high-rises. But Bollywood is never far behind - if you are 'Yindu' (Chinese for India and Indians), they expect you to sing 'Awara Hoon'.

The Raj Kapoor-starrer was a roaring success in the newly-Communist China of the 1950s and continues to strike a chord with the Chinese, especially the older generation, as it kindles a yearning for freedom and a carefree life.

Says Li Ming, a 50-something restaurateur in downtown Haiku: "I love the joyous beats of this song. It has been translated into Chinese and is often played in discos and at parties."

Guo, a student at Hainan University says in her halting English: "If they (the Chinese here) meet Yindu, they feel they must know how to sing and dance. Indians are really good dancers."

At a reception hosted for visiting Indian academics in this coastal capital of Hainan province, Chinese scholars could not resist the temptation to sing 'Awara Hoon,' each in their own inimitable Chinese accent.

China's affair with Bollywood has had ups and downs. In fact, Indian films were among the first foreign films shown in China after it started opening up in the 1970s and continue to frame the Chinese view of India. Another Indian film that became a bit of rage with Chinese teenagers was 'Noori' in the 1980s.

The interest in Bollywood faded off into nostalgia soon after, but with India emerging as a rising power along with China in the late 1990s and with more Chinese travelling overseas, the fascination for Bollywood song and dance spectaculars has been revived again.

Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai are the new favourites. Films like 'Asoka' and 'Devdas' have been screened by many Chinese TV channels, says Zhang Kang, an expatriate Chinese who lived in New York for many years.

'Lagaan' - called in China 'Once Upon a Time in India' about a patriotic movie that dramatises a cricket game played between a rag-tag team of villagers and British imperial authorities - has also caught the imagination of the new generation.

In the last few years, India has deftly indulged in Bollywood promotion in China, part of soft power diplomacy that both sides feel help in creating a positive atmosphere for nurturing bilateral ties that often get entangled in sensitive issues.

"It's important to promote better understanding of each other's culture," says Ma Jiali, a South Asia expert at China's Institute of Contemporary International Relations.

Two years ago, the 'Merchants of Bollywood', a musical conceived by Australian Tony Gough and choreographed by Mumbai-based Vaibhavi Merchant, travelled across 10 cities to China, making the Chinese sway to the beats of Hindi songs.

At the Shanghai Expo last year, many Hindi film stars descended on the city. A 90-minute lavish musical, 'Ticket to Bollywood', gave the Chinese a flavour of the legendary Bollywood razzmatazz.

There are also talks between Bollywood and Indian Chinese filmmakers, but a genuine crossover film has yet to take off as it's difficult to get permission for foreign companies to shoot in the country. The Chinese movie industry follows a quota system which only allows around 20 foreign films to be screened a year.

I am far removed from worldly matters: Lata Mangeshkar

Lata Mangeshkar, who turned 82 Wednesday, says she has no regrets in life as she has best of the family, friends and her singing journey has been satisfactory.

Excerpts from an interview:

Q: Looking back, do you regret not getting married?
A: Not at all. I've no regrets in life. I never got a chance to get married and I never thought about. I believe what happens is what was meant to happen. I am happy the way I am. I am far removed from worldly matters.

Q: You are considered the single-most powerful woman of the entertainment industry. What does power mean to you?
A: Good question. Power to me means the power to excel in my work, to not misuse the power is power to me. It's easy to get swayed and drunk on power. All these years I made sure I remained down to earth.

Q: You are supposed to be extremely quick on the uptake when recording songs?
A: Ah, that's a gift I have received from god. Naushad Saab used to say, 'Okay, you've picked up the tune. But I still want you to come back tomorrow to rehearse.'

Q: You mean just for the heck of it?
A: Jee haan. I knew the song in five minutes. But still he wanted a rehearsal.

Q:Any composer whose songs were tougher to master?
A: Sajjad Hussain saab's songs made me tense. We shared a beautiful rapport. But in the recording room, he was relentless. Then my brother Hridayanath's compositions are a special challenge.

Q: 82, still you are the one and only Lata Mangeshkar?
A: It's the blessings I've received from my parents and god.

Q: You've looked after your family from the time when you were hardly more than a child?
A: Here, I'd like to correct you. I'm very proud to say my family ceased to be dependent on me from a very young age. From the age of 11, Hridayanath never asked me for a penny.
My sisters - Asha, Meena, Usha - and my brother made their own careers. Asha left home when she was 14-15 and fended for himself. For Bhai-dooj Hridayanath used to give me and my sisters Rs.1.25. Now he gives me in thousands. You wouldn't come across a prouder sister than me.

Q: You sound emotional.
A: That's how I get when I speak about my brother. Do you know he was four when he got bone TB? His foot was permanently damaged by the illness. We sisters had to carry him around. However, a tribal vaidya in Kolhapur in 1943 cured him miraculously.

Q: Do you feel because of your stature, your siblings did not get their dues?
A: Today, in Maharashtra it's not just me who's recognised. We are are known collectively as the Mangeshkar family. But yes, to an extent the belief that other trees cannot grow under a banyan tree is applicable to my family.

Q: It is said Asha Bhosle moved out of your shadows to find her identity?
A: This is absolutely wrong. There's no fight between us. We live in adjoining flats and there's a connecting door between our homes. But yes, at a tender age Asha left home and got married. And she made a big name for herself. I'm very proud of her.

Q: How do you rate Asha as a singer?
A: She didn't become famous for nothing. She can sing every kind of song. Thank god, she didn't adopt my style of singing. If she had, we'd have become competition for one another. Yeh man-na padega ki woh bahut badi gayika hai.

Q: Do you miss your great colleagues?
A: Oh yes! I miss Kishore-da (Kumar) and Mukesh bhaiyya. I also miss Mohd Rafi Saab. I miss Madan bhaiyya (Mohan), Salil Choudhary, Shankar-Jaikishan, Hemant Kumar and Naushad Saab.

Q: What other dreams do you nurture?
A: What I've received is much more than I deserve. I look at artists better than me and wonder why they didn't get the fame they deserve.

Q: Like who?
A:(Taken aback) What do you mean? (laughs). There are so many artistes better than me. There is a world outside cinema where much talent languishes. Look at classical singers. They die in penury.

Q: There is just one music director who never worked with you...
A:(promptly) O.P. Nayyar. He was a fine music director. But his style didn't suit me. That's what he told me. And I agreed. He publicly acknowledged me as the No.1 singer.

Q: What style are we talking about here?
A: The way he made Geeta Dutt or my sister Asha sing was not suited to me. But you know when he set out to compose for his first film, he called me to sing. But I had to cancel the recording. I think he felt bad about the cancellation of his first song.

Q: Who are the people from the entertainment industry you are fond of?
A: Yash Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kohli (composer Madan Mohan's son) and Dilip Kumar Saab.

Q: Have you tried staying in touch with them?
A: Yashji and Sanjeev, yes. I tried connecting with Dilip Saab but I was not allowed to by someone on his end. But I know he loves this Chhoti Bahen of his. I formed many unforgettable relationships and they remain with me even if I don't meet them.

Ranveer-Anushka to reshoot scenes as chemistry is lost!

The grapevine has it that Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma’s ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’ may not be released on its sceheduled date of release, December 9 as announced by Yash Raj Films.

Shooting is still underway and there’s some re-shooting on the cards. Sources close to Yash Raj Films tell us that the unit is under considerable stress to meet the deadline and will be leaving for Goa for a four-day shoot. They will also be travelling to Lucknow.
It seems Aditya Chopra was not happy with some scenes, which need to be re-shot in Goa and Lucknow. Hopefully, this time round, director Maneesh Sharma will meet Chopra’s expectations. And, hopefully, the film will release as planned.
‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’ is a fun-filled rom-con, where a smooth and charming conman, Ricky Bahl, cons girls for a living but finally meets his match.

Amitabh Bachchan-Shah Rukh Khan face off?

After hosting the third season of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', buzz is that actor Shah Rukh Khan will now return to the current season of the show being hosted by actor Amitabh Bachchan.

However, he's not trying to get into Bachchan's shoes and is instead expected to be on the hot seat opposite the senior host. If insiders are to be believed, then the Diwali special of the show will have Shah Rukh as the special guest.

Incidentally, the star was a part of the first season on a New Year's special episode 11 years back. An insider says, "If all goes well then Shah Rukh will be shooting for the Diwali special episode with Bachchan.

This season, the show had many guests who have been part of the show already on various occasions. However, Diwali is one of the biggest festivals here and the way the show is turning out, a big star like Shah Rukh Khan is a good choice."

The source adds, "Also it helps SRK, as his ambitious 'Ra.One' will be releasing at the same time and the actor's making sure that he grabs as many eyeballs as possible. And this show with its high TRPs is ideal."

Film villains mirror socio-political scene: Rakeysh Mehra

Filmmaker and scriptwriter Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra of "Rang De Basanti" fame says the history of Indian cinema shows villains were the greatest mirrors of the country's changing socio-political scene.
"The first villains were the British - they were villains (literally). Then the feudal lords became the villains in the rich-poor conflicts and after that your father became the villain (because he told you which room in the hostel you had to stay and whom you should wed). And then the system became the villain," Mehra said.
Mehra was in conversation with film-writer Jai Arjun Singh about "New Wave Cinema" at the Lit for Life festival presented by The Hindu in the capital on Sunday.
The discussion was sponsored by Om Books International, which is publishing Mehra's film "Rang De Basanti" as a novel.
"Then came young India... But a new wave is generally something which washes everything away and leaves behind a fragrance. New wave was discovered in French cinema. People started relating to it and there was participation of audience in cinema -- movies became interactive," Mehra said.
He feels movies also reflected the mood in the country.
"If you look at Indian cinema - Hindi and South Indian cinema, it reflects the mood of the country in the last 60 years. (Former prime minister Jawaharlal) Nehru's call to build the nation (with socio-economic growth) from cycles to railway engines was echoed by the cinema.
"Soon the idea of independence started fading away. Bengal and Maharashtra were ravaged by famines and there was the China war. It gave us (images of) poverty, the ordinary man's fight for survival. The man would return home at the end of the day with a handful of grain. He didn't want to go to the theatre to watch his life - and so we came up with escapism," Mehra said.
The dancing hero - Shammi Kapoor -- appeared on screen and they (heroes) are still dancing, the filmmaker added.
"We got the boy-meets-girl, the villain who catches the boy, bashes him up and in the midst of it, they manage to sing 12 songs," Mehra said running the audience through the journey of Indian cinema.
It was followed by a spell of anger - that era was dominated by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who emerged as a voice of suppressed class and rose in the film firmament as the Angry Young Man.
"The whole thing about governance, politics and anarchy (the various political movements) gave birth to the anti-establishment hero," Mehra said.
Mehra, who grew up in the old Delhi area of the capital, has also written and directed two other movies, "Aks" (2001) starring Amitabh and "Delhi 6" starring Abhishek Bachchan.
Now the filmmaker harbours epic dreams.
"I want to adapt the story of Karan from Mahabharata - the episode in which his mother says she is not his mother," Mehra said.
"I want to do a full-blown war movie between India and China too," he added.

Stop showing tobacco on screen, Bollywood urged

Stating that on screen representation of smoking glamorizes tobacco, civil society members on Wednesday urged the film industry and censor board to avoid depicting such scenes in movies.
"There are several empirical studies and global evidence which show that depiction of tobacco usage in movies increases the risk of initiation of tobacco use in an indirect manner," Salaam Bombay Foundation Programme Director Devika Chadha said at a workshop.
The workshop was attended by members of health and information and broadcasting ministries, along with representatives from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and film industry.
Health Ministry Director Rakesh Kumar said more communication was needed between the health and information and broadcasting ministries to tackle the issue.
Supriya Sahu, representative of the information and broadcasting ministry, said the ministry monitors 300 of the over 700 TV channels to check there was no direct or indirect advertising of tobacco or alcohol.
Supporting the activists, scriptwriter Rekha Nigam said: "Hands of Bollywood are bloodied...there are thousands ways of showing a character than showing smoking."

Rumours were rife that Bipasha and her "Dum Maaro Dum" co-star Rana were dating and that they were planning to get married.

Salman Khan wants to lock David Dhawan in Bigg Boss house!

Salman Khan will be seen co-hosting the most controversial show on TV with Sanjay Dutt. There are 14 inmates, who will go through the test of patience. Salman claims that even he is not aware of the names, but they will be revealed on the opening episode of Bigg Boss. However, the superstar wishes to see David Dhawan in the house, during the last episodes of the show.

On being asked about a person, who's name he would suggest to be a Bigg Boss inmate, Salman quickly said, “I want to see David Dhawan in the house during the last three weeks. He eats a lot and in the house, during
the last few days, people go on a diet as they are provided with lesser food. David eats anywhere and anytime, even in restaurants he keeps on looking at everyone’s dish (he chuckled)”

“I want David to be fit and fine. I would really like it if he controls his weight and looks after his health,” concluded Salman.

Director:Deepa Sahi
Producer:Anup Jalota and Ketan Mehta
Music Directer:Shivangi R Kashyap
Genre:Comedy / Romance

Story
Story: Tere Mere Phere sheds light on the after effects of marriage, where a newly married couple- Rahul (Jagrat) and Pooja (Sasha), encounter strange behaviours of each other on their honeymoon, leading to brawls. Things become worse, when Jai (Vinay Pathak) has to face the brunt of it, when their common flight to Shimla, returns back because of Rahul-Pooja's yet another fight. Jai, who's actually on his way to rescue his lady-love Muskaan (Ria Sen) from settling for a forced marriage, now has very little time in hand and is left with no option, but to opt for a road journey to Shimla, with Rahul and Pooja, who own a vanity car. Now, will Vinay be able to win Muskaan from her orthodox family or will he have a change of heart watching the consequences of a marriage, through the journey of the couple that accompany him, is the rest of the story.

Story Treatment: Tere Mere Phere, is a dull affair in terms of story-telling. What makes matters worse, is the poorly written screenplay. In fact, first 20 minutes decide the fate of the film, as the rest of it does nothing, but tests the patience of the viewer. The entire film focuses on the fights between the protagonists and this aspect bores one to death. The new entrants do justice to their roles, but the monotonous moments take away their effort. Vinay Pathak breathes life in the film with his funny acts, but he can’t be the savior here, as he gets little scope in the first half.
Star Cast: Vinay Pathak doesn't surprise, but manages to tickle the funny bones during the climax. Jagrat Desai and Sasha Goradia live up to the expectations of their characters, thus look promising. Darshan Jariwala and Sushmita Mukherjee are simply wasted. Riya Sen in her cameo, irritates to the core.
Direction: Deepa Sahi as a narrator and a director, doesn’t leave an impression at all. The flick comes across as a very amateur product from her kitty, which was surely not expected of someone, who has spent so many years in the industry. Barring the beautiful locales of Himachal Pradesh, nothing in Tere Mere Phere impresses. The repetitive quarrels with meaningless dialogues leave one in despair, plus some irritating moments, like the one where the female protagonist, due to the non availability of an empty wash room is ready to reply to nature’s call right at the roadside, further irk one’s mind.

Music/ Cinematography/ Dialogues/Editing: Music further adds to the misery of screenplay, as it is intolerable. Cinematography is the saving grace as it beautifully captures the locales of the HP. The dialogues are again boring. Editing, too takes a toll on the movie.

3 Ups and 3 Downs: Performances, beautiful locales and cinematography are the strong points. Sadly, a thin storyline, overtly dragged screenplay and boring dialogues make it a film, which can’t be recommended on any condition.

Star Cast:Jimmy Sheirgill, Mahie Gill, Randeep Hooda, Vipin Sharma and Deepal Shaw.
Director:Tigmanshu Dhulia.
Producer:Tigmanshu Dhulia and Rahul Mittra.
Music Directer:Amit Sial, Sunil Bhatia, Jaidev Kumar, Anuj Garg, Abhishek Ray, Ankit Tiwari and Mukhtar Sahota.
Genre:Action / Thriller

Story
Story: Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, as the title suggests, is the story of a royal- Nawab Saheb (Jimmy Sheirgill), his Begum Biwi (Mahie Gill) and Gangster (Randeep Hooda). Nawab and his Biwi live a very fake life of royals and in fact, have nothing in real to boast about. Neck deep in debts, Nawab can’t do without his royal taste, especially that of having mistresses. His intimacy with a mistress causes distress to his Begum, who becomes the victim of hysteria. A ray of hope comes in her life in the form of a Gangster, who pretends to be a driver. Neglected Biwi finds solace in arms of the Gangster for sometime, but it is the latter who falls in love with her. Biwi, in order to get rid of the mistress and attain the attention of the Nawab, plans the mistress’ death with the gangster and in return, gives him a false promise of a relationship. Now, will the Gangster kill the mistress and whether the Nawab will catch his Begum and Gangster red-handed, is the rest of the story.
Story Treatment: A well-woven tale of love, lust and betrayal, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster strikes the right chord. A close to flawless attempt, the film has everything in it to make an impression. From brilliant characterisation, correct doses of sarcasm in dialogues, titillating intimate scenes and above all- some marvelous twists that keep one at the edge of the seat. Despite having sub-plots, the narration doesn’t lose threads even once, minus the last 40 minutes which could have been tighter.
Star Cast: Jimmy Sheirgill delivers an unbeatable performance as Nawab. He springs up a surprise with his extremely brilliant dialogue delivery. Mahie Gill switches lanes from being a mad to a clever woman with ease. She complements both Jimmy and Randeep Hooda’s character. Randeep gives an effortless performance thus, proves his acting-prowess marvelously. Deepal Shaw and Vipin Sharma are flawless in their effort and completely natural.
Direction: Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster is absorbing from the word go, something which says a lot about what an intelligent director Tigmanshu Dhulia is. His efficiency lies in the fact, how tactfully he unfolds each plot in the film. Be it, the unmasking of the gangster’s character or the mistress’ death or the final blow in the climax, when the Begum shows her true colours. An extremely crisp screenplay adds on to the strength of this power-packed venture.
Music/ Cinematography/ Dialogues/Editing: Music completely complements the theme of the story, especially the title song, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, which rings a bell. Cinematography is ‘A’ class. Camera without going over-board, captures the essence of the film quite aptly. Dialogues are the soul of the film, which further enhance the narration. Editing, especially in the second half could have been crispier.
3 Ups and 3 Downs:  A powerful storyline, crisp screenplay, hard-hitting dialogues and impressive performance make Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster a delightful watch. Slightly dragged second half and editing are weak points, but can be ignored.
Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster is surely a milestone in Tigmanshu Dhulia's career, that he will cherish both as a director and producer. So will the cine-goers, who won’t be disappointed. This one's highly recommended!

Bigg Boss 5: Salman-Sanjay clear the air about their tussle

Known for their great camaraderie, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt have always provided their fans with a double dose of entertainment. Now, the two superstars will be seen on small screen, hosting the most popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. Speculations of a fight between the duo were at peak, soon after the show was announced.  However, both of them cleared the air during the launch of Bigg Boss 5.
Salman and Sanjay in an interactive session, put an end to all the rumours surrounding their friendship and reinstated that all is well between the two. Sanjay followed his Gandhigiri approach and said, “Even if a fight happened, it was between two brothers. Salman is my brother and I love him a lot.”

Emphasising on Sanju’s statement, Salman in his very own style said, “We give each other a boost when we feel low. We take care of each other and are concerned even about each other’s health. So people, who claim that they have seen us fight, are the one whom we don’t know.”

“We won’t tell everyone to believe everything we say, but pray that they do. Also, we both don’t fight and are happy being together on the show,” Salman concluded.

Star Cast:Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Minissha Lamba, Pia Trivedi, Satish Kaushik and Sanjay Mishra.
Director:Sagar Ballary.
Producer:Sunil Chainani, Sameer Srivastava and Subhash Dawar
Music Directer:Sachin and Jigar
Genre:Comedy / Romance

Story
Story: The film begins with a cut-throat competition between two extremely ambitious boys- Rishi (Tusshar Kapoor) and Kartik (Shreyas Talpade). This rivalry, soon affects their personal life too, as they happen to fall in love with the same girl, Shabana (Minissha Lamba). However, this chase for the girl, soon turns into a fight to lose her, as soon as the boys discover what they are losing in the bargain. Shabana is a niece of underworld don Chacha (Satish Kaushik) and only a boy, who takes up the profession of a don, can marry her.
Story Treatment: Hum Tum Shabana breaks the rules of a regular love triangle with a twist, but falls flat in its execution. The messy screenplay takes the toll, especially post the interval. The flick gets its first blow when Minissha Lamba, who's barely 5 feet 2 inches tall, participates in a beauty pageant which is completely indigestible. To top it all, Tusshar and Shreyas turn out to be very non-impressive in the terms comic-timing. Things seem to fall in place in first half, until everything gets messed up after the entry of Satish Kaushik’s character. Sanjay Mishra comes as a breather with few of his funny acts.
Star Cast: Tusshar-Shreyas chemistry as rivals, doesn’t impress much, although Shreyas plays his part well and Tusshar is good at some parts. Minissha Lamba doesn’t get much scope post interval and is strictly okay. Satish Kaushik, slapping himself and others at regular intervals, gets on to the nerves after a point. Sanjay Mishra is the saving grace, as he pulls off few moments of fun quite nicely. Pia Trivedi is perfect as a model.
Direction: After making a smashing debut with Bheja Fry, Sagar Ballary has been disappointing with every movie he has attempted recently, be it Kachcha Limbo or Bheja Fry 2. Hum Tum Shabana proves to be yet another disastrous effort by this director. As mentioned earlier, the clumsy unfolding of sequences, leave one gasping for breath in the middle of the movie. The training sequences with ultra-boring background music, add to the misery. Tusshar in Johnny Depp attire, matching the signature step of his dad Jitendra, is the only thing which one can take with oneself, after the movie.
Music/ Cinematography/ Dialogues/ Editing: Music doesn’t register at all. Cinematography supports to make the film slightly tolerable. Dialogues lack class and are extremely boring. Editing doesn’t help either.
3 Ups and 3 Downs: The concept, moderate performances by actors and cinematography are the strengths of the film. A clumsy screenplay, lacklustre music and dialogues leave one numb.
On the whole, Hum Tum Shabana can be easily given a miss.

Prateik says 'No sex' till My Friend Pinto's release

Bollywood celebs get extra-conscious, when their release is just few days away and also tend to explore their religious side. Actors take oaths and refrain from many important things in life, till their movie
releases. However, Prateik Babbar seems to have left everyone behind
by making a promise which might surprise one and all.
Actor Prateik, who plays the lovable Pinto in My friend Pinto, which is slated to release on Octobedr 14, has taken an oath of celibacy. He has vowed not to have sex till his movie releases.
When contacted, the actor confidently said, “A lot of actors, sportsmen take pledges, when it comes to important events in their life and give up things in life. Some quit drinking, some quit smoking and few also give up non vegetarian food. When it comes to me, I have decided not to have sex, come what may".
“This is my first solo film aur log kya-kya nahin karte before their release. People visit religious places to seek blessings, some take a vow of giving up certain things and I have decided to go celibate. I'm just 24 and it’s my test too and I will pass it,” he added.
Interestingly, Prateik's character Pinto wants to become a priest in the film. On being asked, whether the actor will he be able to succeed in his pledge, he grinned and said, "Let's wait and watch, only time will tell.”
In the past, Bollywood celebs have done different things to assure that their movie rings a bell at the Box-Office. But this is the first time, any actor in the world has done something like this.
